Very early in the beginnings of my walk of faith with Yeshua, I was attending a seminar on inner healing and Christian counseling. One day during our lunch break a young man came and sat down beside me in the cafeteria and said, I was told you are a Jewish believer in Jesus (Yeshua). To which I replied yes, I am. The young man then asked me a specific question, he said tell me how does some one witness to Jewish people in Israel? And I turned my head to answer him and say "I don't know". But immediately I began having an open vision.
VISION
As I was still very new in the faith I wasn't aware of any kind of special formula, that worked on evangelizing Jewish people. And was about to explain that, but instead I began to see and experience a very vivid picture. It was rather simple in appearance, and the Holy Spirit began to give me understanding of what I was seeing. The picture I was seeing was a number of jumbo jet air planes all flying in the same direction. All of these aero planes were white in color, with the exception of the tail fins were different in color. I understood that the various colors of the tail fin, represented different nations, and that these aero planes were filled with followers of Yeshua the Messiah. And that all of the planes were in flight to Israel.
As the aero planes approached Israel I saw a black cloud covering the entire nation of Israel. And immediately understood that this cloud represented the time of "Jacobs trouble". As each plane approached the airport and descended they broke through the dark clouds, making a hole in the cloud allowing the sun (Son) to shine in, which began to illuminate the earth below. And I saw the passengers disembark and begin to travel to various parts of Israel. And it seemed that all of these believers in Yeshua had one thing in common. Though they were from every tongue and tribe on earth they all had a similar testimony. As they mingled with the Jewish people they began saying things like, "we have left behind our jobs and businesses, our hopes and dreams, some even said family and friends. So that we could come and stand with you in this hour". And from the tone and sincerity of heart, I could see they were not just there for a vacation, but many of them knew they would never return to their homeland ever again, or see their loved ones again.
And the scripture that came to mind was Matthew 10:37-40. The love of God that cloaked these men and women both young and old, was so powerful. And the glory of God that encircled them was seen and felt by everyone that saw them. In the midst of seeing and understanding the grand sacrifice that these Christians had made, I looked and began to see many of the Israelis bow down and weep in worship to the Lord. This sacrificial demonstration of love was so over whelming that it was so obvious that the Lord had begun to pour out His spirit of grace and supplication (Zechariah 12:10).
The vision ended there, and I knew that this time of God's visitation was coming soon. That both the time of "Jacob's Trouble" and the time of Israel's Salvation were going to be somehow connected. And that men and women of God, both young and old, would be used to make Israel jealous. (Romans 11:11)
That vision was many years ago, when I lived in Canada. I must say that I have seen the beginnings of this vision come to pass since I have returned home to my birth place Israel. I have met people who have virtually left behind their careers and dreams in order to obey the Lord and come stand along side of the people and nation of Israel. And their sacrifice of unconditional love has and is changing the hearts of God's chosen people Israel.
Today's (2007) estimates put the population of believing Jews in Israel about ten thousand and growing. Who can resist this kind of love (God's love)? And yes the cost to have and to carry this glory and this love is high, it will cost you everything. Salvation is a free gift, and Yeshua's sacrifice on the Cross of shame and curse was and still is FREE, we receive it by faith, His gift of faith. But the price to follow Him (Yeshua) is everything. A total surrender and death to all of our own desires and aspirations, in exchange for the life of Yeshua the Son of God to be lived out in our body. "For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God." Romans 8:19
This vision not only answered this young man's question, of how do you witness to a Jew in Israel, but I believe addressed the question of what will it take to be a true witness of Messiah Yeshua. Not only in Israel, but around the world. In Romans 11:15 we see that as the revelation of Yeshua becomes manifest to Israel through this magnificent demonstration of God's love. Not only will it bring Salvation to Israel; it shall be "life from the dead" for the whole world. To shine His light we need to be in His light. And to be in Him completely will require us to leave behind all of our darkness and just be submerged in Him and His light and life.
Many have not understood that the greatest key to revival anywhere in the world is connected to the gospel of God's love in Messiah being brought to the Jewish people. Romans 1:16 A quick study of the word in the book of Acts will reveal that Paul always went to the Jew first, understanding that God's plan of Salvation for the world is tied directly to the plan of "to the Jew first".
